Project overview

I worked at Dolby as part of the global design team, supporting engineering and marketing efforts in US, EMEA & APAC regions. My focus was on UX/UI design for enterprise meeting room communication devices. I also collaborated with marketing & business teams to promote the Dolby brand across digital and offline channels.

Background & problem

At Dolby I usually focused on execution and delivery of projects. As part of the Dolby India team, I focused on ensuring Dolby’s brand guidelines were adhered to in all projects. I also worked closely with my colleagues in San Francisco to deliver quick-turn design requests.

Support local and global teams in ensuring brand guidelines were met and supporting engineering teams to launch new products. Also deploy the Brand Design system online.

As part of my role at Dolby I worked on 2 key verticals::

Product design -
These projects are under NDA, but for context I worked on the onboarding & setup of camera for the meeting room. I also mapped out the user journey, created wireframes of a meeting room app. Partnered with industrials designers & engineers to research, strategize and design the user flow & visual interface of a wireless earphone mobile app.

Brand design -
Supported marketing and business teams in creating visual experiences for B2B and B2C units. Helped create visuals for co-branded efforts with Sony, OnePlus & Realme. I also created POS experiences for Dolby Cinema in Middle East region.

key takeaways

Working with cross-functional teams for the first team was really enriching as we made me aware of dependencies.
Following brand guidelines across different touchpoints and channels are extremely vital for a larger brand like Dolby.
Deploying the Brand Design system online helped me understand the scope of it.
